SBS to raise fares for non-basic bus services

SBS Transit will be raising fares for its non-basic bus services starting from Aug 3.

Nite Owl, Parks, Chinatown Direct and Premium bus services will be affected by the increase, announced on Friday after the Public Transport Council (PTC) gave the go-ahead.

Premium bus services will be increased by between 20 cents and 70 cents for adult fares, while Parks and Chinatown Direct fares will both go up by 10 cents.

Senior Citizen Concession fares will increase by between 5 and 10 cents, while student concession fares will increase by a flat 5 cents.

Children below the age of 7 who currently pay fares on these non-basic bus services, however, will now get to enjoy free travel.
