SBS Transit CEO Gan Juay Kiat resigns over ‘inappropriate relationship’: report
SBS Transit chief executive Gan Juay Kiat has resigned due to an incident of “personal indiscretion”, according to a report by The Straits Times on Friday (28 December).
The report said Gan, 61, was taking responsibility for an “inappropriate relationship”.
The former Singapore Armed Forces senior officer, who has been with the unit of transport group ComfortDelGro for 11 years, will serve out his notice.
Prof Lim Seh Chun, an SBS Transit director, told ST, “I’m very surprised by his resignation. I work closely with him. We’re going to lose a good CEO.”
Before joining SBS Transit, Gan was working in the Ascott Group, CapitaLand, Times Publishing and General Electric, according to his profile on the ComfortDelGro website
Beginning his career in the SAF, Gan held several senior command and staff appointments.
Gan, who was a President’s Scholar and an SAF (UK) Scholar, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Engineering Tripos) from the University of Cambridge.
