The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said on Monday (29 Aug) it had been alerted that some members of the public were receiving calls beginning with the number +65-995X XXXX on their mobile phones.

In a post on its Facebook page, the SCDF said the calls were not made by the organisation, and members of the public who received such calls were advised to ignore them.

“Should you receive such calls, DO NOT provide your personal data such as: name, NRIC number, passport details, bank account or credit card details,” the SCDF said.

It added that the public should not return such calls as they would lead to the ‘995’ emergency hotline.

The SCDF advised those who receive such calls are advised to call the Police Hotline at 1800-255 0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.
