Schools In Metro Suspend Classes

Many schools in Metro Manila suspended classes today following Monday night's heavy downpour and the floods it spawned.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised the red warning signal or under the emergency code over Metro Manila because of heavy rains throughout Monday night.

The cities of Manila, Quezon, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Navotas, Makati, Taguig, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Valenzuela and Pasay declared the suspension of classes in all levels today.

There will be no classes in kinder to high school in Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Marikina, Pasig and Tanay in Rizal Province suspended classes from pre-school to high school.

There will also be no morning classes for colleges and universities in Pasig City.

The following colleges and universities also suspended classes:

· Manila Central University
· Jose Rizal University
· Ateneo Graduate School
· Asia Pacific College in Makati
· University of the East in Manila and Caloocan
· Collegio de San Lorenzo, Quezon City
· National College of Business and Arts - Cubao, Fairview, and Taytay
· Far Eastern University Manila and Diliman, Cavite
· Lyceum of the Philippines in Manila.

St. Paul College in Quezon City will have no kinder to high school classes.

Outside Metro Manila, Taytay, Rodriguez, San Mateo and Cainta in Rizal suspended classes in all levels. So did Balanga and Pilar in Bataan and Cavite Province.

Binangonan, Teresa and Antipolo City in Rizal and Hermosa in Bataan will have no pre-school to high school classes.
