SEA Games 2017 tickets on sale now starting from S$3

Tickets to the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia went on sale on Tuesday, 4 July.

Priced between RM10 to RM20 (S$3.20-S$6.40), the tickets can be purchased online via www.kualalumpur2017.com.my.

Tickets sale at various ticketing outlets will only be announced later, said a news release on the SEA Games website.

Of the 51 events, 19 events, including the opening and closing ceremonies at the Bukit Jalil stadium, require tickets to enter. Tickets the opening ceremony cost RM20 per person (S$6.40).

Other events in the 19 include football, badminton, rugby, basketball, aquatics.

Tickets for netball are sold out as of Wednesday (5 July) morning, while tickets for football have not been released to the public yet.

Events such as archery, athletics, golf, hockey and ice hockey are free and do not require a ticket.

The Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) said, “MASOC has taken steps to ensure affordable prices of tickets, ranging from RM10 to RM20, far cheaper that the minimum charge of at least RM50 for other major sporting events.”

Each individual will be limited to a maximum of four tickets per person to “prevent the illegal sale of tickets or the presence of ticket touts”, a Malay Mail report said.
