Singapore has clinched its first medal of the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur – a silver in the men’s team compound in archery.
National archers Ang Han Teng, Alan Lee and Pang Toh Jin lost to Malaysians Lee Kin Lip, Juwaidi Mazuki and Zalfadhli Ruslan with a score of 228-222 in the final on Thursday (17 Aug).
The Singapore team earlier beat Philippines 233 to 227 in the semi-finals earlier in the day to qualify for the gold medal match.
At the previous SEA Games in 2015, Singapore won two bronze medals in the team recurve event and men’s individual event.
