'I tell them I love them every day': Sean Lock's moving words about his children months before his death
Sean Lock spoke movingly of his relationship with his three children months before his death, saying he told them he loved them “more than once a day”.
Appearing on an episode of Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell podcast which was released on 26 February, Lock talked about his relationship with his daughters, aged 17 and 15, and son, aged 12.
Reflecting on life as a father to teenagers, he said: “I still really enjoy my kids and I still have a really good laugh with them.”

In his typically deadpan style, he added: “But then seconds later we’re at it [arguing].”
He went on to say: “I tell them I love them every day, more than once a day. And I apologise to my kids when I’m out of order.”
The podcast was recorded at the height of England’s third coronavirus lockdown, and Lock said he planned to go away with his son once restrictions ended.
He spoke of bonding with his children over watching Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge, but wistfully added: “My eldest one, because she is so difficult, has decided to support Manchester City. She doesn’t even know where Manchester is!”
Lock also reflected on the time he spent away from his children when they were younger.
"I was touring a lot. It's unstable. When I was at home [I was definitely a hands-on parent]. But there were periods where I was away for quite a long time.
"It was quite strange for them, really, because they would have me around and then I'd be gone."
Lock was most well-known as a team captain on Jimmy Carr’s Channel 4 comedy panel show 8 Out Of 10 Cats. He also wrote and starred in the popular BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High.
As well as his children, Lock is survived by his wife, Anoushka Nara Giltsoff. In a statement released on Wednesday, his agent, Off The Kerb Productions, said he died at home "surrounded by his family".
It is thought he kept his cancer diagnosis private, with only family and close friends knowing of his condition.

One close friend, comedian Lee Mack, said: "I’ve known this day was coming for some time, but it’s no less heart-breaking. A true original both in comedy and life. I will miss him so much.”
Another comedian friend, Bill Bailey, told BBC Radio 5 Live: “It’s a devastating loss, personally and to comedy. He was my dearest friend and we’ve known each other more than 30 years and we’ve known he was ill for some time, but even so it’s still a shock when the day comes.”
Carr, meanwhile, said he watched old clips of Lock's comedy following the announcement of his death. He admitted they made him "laugh and cry".
"I’ll miss him so much," Carr added.
