SEREMBAN: The search operation for a woman who went missing last Thursday after throwing out rubbish in the backyard of her house in Kampung Sungai Mahang, here, was halted on Tuesday.

State Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the decision was made after no leads were found.

“We have lodged a police report for further action. If there are new leads, we will restart the search operation.“

Nilai district police chief Superintendent Zaldino Zaludin said it was being treated as a missing person’s case.

He said police were talking to the victim’s relatives and checking the country’s entry/exit records.

“That’s one of our efforts to date, but it has yet to produce any results. The family has been informed that the search operation had to be stopped and they understand,” he said.

The media had reported that Rusbnita Amirdin, 44, was last seen clearing the yard and going into the forest area behind her house to remove trash before disappearing around 9am on Thursday. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
