KUALA LUMPUR: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a paraglider who went missing while gliding from Bukit Batu Pahat to Millennium Stadium, Kuala Kubu Baru, resumed this morning.
Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent R. Supramaniam said the paraglider, known only as Rosli from Cheras, may have failed to land due to strong winds during his glide at about 2.50pm yesterday.
Police were alerted to his disappearance at about 3.30pm.
"The strong winds lifted him to about 4,000 feet, until he was out of sight," he said.
The SAR team first attempted to contact Rosli using a 'point to point' set which he had with him, as well as using a mobile phone, but he could not be reached.
The SAR operation yesterday was called off at 8pm last night.
