Season over for Toulouse lock Albacete

Toulouse lock Patricio Albacete has been ruled out for the season with ruptured knee ligaments. The 34-year-old Argentinian, who has been at Toulouse since 2006 and has won 57 Pumas caps, announced on Twitter that he was to undergo an operation on Thursday. Albacete sustained the injury in Sunday's 32-23 defeat by Clermont in the Top 14, a further blow to a Toulouse team on a series of five matches without a win and already missing experienced hands in Yoann Huget, Louis Picamoles, Luke McAlister and David Mele through injury. Toulouse currently sit sixth in the Top 14 and face a battle to conserve that berth that guarantees an automatic spot in the season-ending play-offs.
