Second 'Dallas' season will start airing in January

US network TNT has renewed Dallas for a second season, which will start airing on January 28, 2013.

The first season of the series (which takes place 20 years after the end of the original) drew an audience of 5.3 million in the US over the summer, and the next batch of 15 episodes will start airing on in early 2013.

Three stars from the original series, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman, appear alongside the new generation, which includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster and Brenda Strong; Mitch Pileggi (who portrayed FBI assistant director Walter Skinner in The X-Files) portrays Ann Ewing's ex-husband.
