KUALA LUMPUR: The second post mortem process on former Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan has yet to be completed, said Selangor Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Fadzil Ahmat.
He said the police were still waiting for the pathology experts to complete the post mortem before the body could be buried again at the Muslim Cemetery in Section 9, Kota Damansara near here.
“The post mortem process has been extended. So, we’ll wait until the pathologists have completed their post mortem to bury (back) the body,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Fadzil said he could not say how long the process would take.
Last Tuesday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun was reported to have said that Nazrin’s remains would be buried again on Friday (tomorrow) after completion of the second post mortem, which is being carried out at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre since 4 pm last Monday.
Nazri’n’s body was exhumed last Monday after police obtained an order from the Magistrate’s Court to carry out a second post mortem to facilitate investigation into his death.
Nazrin, 45, died in a fire that broke out at his two-storey house in Mutiara Damansara on June 14.
Police reclassified Nazrin’s death as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code on August 3, following a forensic investigation report by the Fire and Rescue Department, which cited suspected foul play. - Bernama © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
