A section of the casino at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) is temporarily closed after a piece of ceiling board fell and injured four persons on Tuesday morning (2 January), a spokesman at the integrated resort operator said.

One security staff and three external contractors sustained minor injuries. They have been discharged after receiving treatment at the resort’s clinic and hospital.

“A part of the ceiling board leading to the mezzanine gaming area of the casino fell off this morning when external contractors were carrying out enhancement works. There were no guests at that area during the incident,” the RWS spokesman said in a statement.

Stressing that the safety of guests and employees is the top priority at RWS, the spokesman added that the area is temporarily closed and will resume operation after a thorough safety inspection is completed.
