It's never too early to start planning your 2022 holiday and next year we've set our sights on a relaxing, garden-themed trip to Holland during the loveliest time of year.
The country's tulips are a must-visit attraction in spring, when rows upon rows of the flowers bloom into a patchwork quilt of colour. A symbol of Holland, they're best seen a 45-minute train ride away at the world-renowned Keukenhof Gardens, which span a whopping 79 acres.
SEE THE TULIPS WITH COUNTRY LIVING
Here, more than seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths bloom into a kaleidoscopic display. Sadly, the garden, which is only open for a few weeks each year, was closed in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, but it's set to welcome visitors again in 2022.
To celebrate the return of travel and all things gardening, Country Living is inviting you to join us on a five-day trip to Holland, where you'll meet Gardeners' World star Adam Frost for a tour of Keukenhof and listen to an exclusive talk from the TV gardener.
You'll spend four nights on a full-board cruise around Holland, where you'll explore the country's famous canals, take in the views of picturesque flower fields and soak up the seasonal atmosphere.
Starting in Amsterdam, which gives you the choice and freedom to arrive by train, coach or plane (we'd recommending spending a couple of nights at a hotel in Amsterdam before the cruise too), you'll sail down the waterways to pretty Hoorn, harbour town Harlingen and architecture hotspot Lelystad, before visiting Keukenhof.
You'll return to Amsterdam, where you'll have the option to take a canal cruise around 17th-century buildings and picturesque little bridges while you enjoy cheese and wine.
The highlight of the trip is the chance to spend time with Adam Frost, who will offer insights into one of the world's greatest gardens. You will also have the opportunity to ask Adam all your horticultural questions and pick up tips and tricks from the star to perfect your own outdoor space when you return home.
