If you are like us, your Tuesday nights have lost all meaning since This Is Us went on winter hiatus just after Thanksgiving. It’s been hard to go three weeks without Milo’s mustache, Randall’s dad jokes, or Rebecca’s or Kate’s songbird skills. But this week you are in luck on one of those accounts, as Chrissy Metz is bringing the noise to the James Corden-produced Drop the Mic, the TBS competition series that pits celebrities against each other 8 Mile-style. Yahoo Entertainment has your sneak peek at Dec. 19’s comic verbal carnage.
Wearing a satiny old-school track jacket, Metz takes on the current champ, Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The ginger’s got game (and some sassy dance moves), but Metz doesn’t seem to take his hits to heart. Instead, she rolls her eyes, shrugs her shoulders, and fires back about his bow ties, pasty skin, multiple Emmy losses, and far more. Of course, something tells us he isn’t going to give up the coveted trophy without a fight.
And there is even more smack-talking from the TV stars to savor from the behind-the-scenes pregame coverage. “If I don’t win, I’m going to be sad as hell, and I’m gonna probably cry,” Metz admits.
See: Stars, they’re just like This Is Us fans.
Drop the Mic airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. on TBS.
