The first pictures of Priyanka Chopra's Ralph Lauren wedding gown have been revealed. The actress – who married Nick Jonas in India this weekend – tied the knot in a beautiful lace creation by the American designer.
The hand-embroidered dress featured scalloped sleeves and a high-neck collar and was partly sheer. She also wore a 75-foot long tulle veil, which added plenty of drama to her look and teamed the gown with custom Jimmy Choo heels.
In an interview with People, Chopra explained that choosing the designer was obvious as the brand was such "a part of [their] love story", with the designer having dressed them both for the Met Gala when they got together.
"For the western wedding, we had been talking to a bunch of incredible designers, but ultimately when Ralph Lauren approached us, I learned that Ralph has only designed three wedding dresses in 50 years - one for his daughter, his daughter in law, and his niece," she said. "I was blown away."
The dress reportedly took 1,826 hours to make and featured 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins.
For the Hindu ceremony, Chopra opted for a red sequin sari, while Jonas wore cream.
"I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up," she said. "We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalised them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way."
