Just in time for Latinx Heritage Month, Selena Gomez entered the world of beauty by launching her very own cosmetics brand called Rare Beauty.

Rare Beauty has a variety of vegan and cruelty-free products in gorgeous shades and silky finishes. Plus, a percentage of all product sales and funds raised by partners go toward the Rare Impact Fund to support mental health services. Talk about looking good and doing good!

There’s been so much hype surrounding the beauty products, so I tested them out for myself. Watch the video for my first impression of Rare Beauty and read below to find out how my makeup held up for the day.

Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

This foundation is available in 48 shades, and I think it's great that Selena really took the time to include a wide range of colors for different skin tones.

The face makeup is supposed to provide medium to full coverage, even out your skin tone and conceal pores. I must say I was super impressed. I built up the foundation to the coverage I like and was also able to hide a dark spot on my forehead. While the shade I tested was a tad bit too light (hello, summer tan!), I warmed up my complexion with a bit of bronzer.

It has a matte finish, so if you do have dry skin, please make sure to moisturize before using. But honestly, it felt like I had nothing on my skin, and I am obsessed with it.

The best part is that the foundation stayed on all day; I couldn't believe that I went for a walk after work and my makeup was pretty intact — little touch-ups here and there, but nothing too much.

Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

I must say that the applicators on these products are pretty impressive. They’re so easy to use and dispenses a lot of makeup. The Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer is formulated to help conceal blemishes, redness and fine lines.

My number one concern when it comes to concealer is: Can it hide my dark circles? And this product did just that. Again, if you use the applicator, a little goes a long way. A BeautyBlender sponge helped me to spread it on evenly, and it brought some luminosity to my face. I would also suggest sealing it with translucent powder to prevent creasing.

Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer

I love a good glow, and this luminizer was perfect in achieving that natural, soft glow. I applied it with the applicator along my upper cheekbones, brow bone and at the inner corners of my eye. I first used a makeup sponge to apply, but I felt it was getting a bit rough to blend. So, I ended up using my fingers and that worked much better.

By the end of the night, I could barely see the highlighter. But I don’t believe I applied a lot. I’ll try it again, adding a bit more to see if lasts all day. Overall, I enjoyed it and I think you can even wear it without any foundation.

Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner

Whoa! I am super impressed with this liquid liner. It has a super fine applicator tip that glides on to give you that perfect precision. This must have been the easiest and fastest way I have ever done my eyeliner. Plus, it stayed all day without smudging.

Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream

This creamy, velvety matte lipstick was a dream to wear on my lips. It was surprisingly hydrating, and you do get good color payoff. I honestly couldn't stop obsessing over the pink shade against my olive skin tone.

I have a habit of touching my face/lips, so the lip cream did transfer onto my hands. So it wasn’t as matte as I’d hope for.

The Ultimate Must-Have

I ended up choosing the Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream as my ultimate must-have because I was genuinely impressed with how it looked and felt on my lips. Even though I wished it was a bit more matte, it's a perfect creamy lipstick that you can wear every day.
