MANILA, Philippines — Liberal Party Senators, at Tuesday’s plenary session, expressed their concern regarding the death of 17-year old Kian delos Santos who was killed in a drug operation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Caloocan City.
“But Kian can be the last, or one of the last.
While Senator Bam Aquino said, “Mr. President, we need to put an end to these killings. We need to hold persons in positions of power and authority accountable to the Filipino people.”
After the majority caucus, Senator Panfilo Lacson said, they decided to conduct a probe on the administration’s war on drugs.
Lacson added there maybe some lapses on the operation of the PNP.
But for opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes, this may face backlash at the PNP.
