Manila, Philippines -- The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC will extend all possible assistance to facilitate the repatriation of the remains of the Filipino nurse who was shot to death last July 20 outside his apartment in Cordova, Tennessee.
Meanwhile, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Cuisia Jr. expressed confidence that authorities will be able to bring to justice whoever was behind the death of Erano Santos, a 33-year-old Filipino nurse from Angeles City.
''We grieve with Mr. Santos' loved ones and join them in condemning this senseless killing,'' Ambassador Cuisia said in a statement issued over the weekend.
Authorities were called to the Stonebridge Crossing Apartments around 2:15 p.m. on July 20. When they arrived, police found Santos dead from a bullet wound.
Memphis police said Santos was shot during an altercation with the unknown gunman who fled the scene of the crime in the victim's silver 2013 Honda Civic 4-door sedan with Tennessee license plate G5237P.
