COLOMBES, France (AP) _ Sequans Communications SA (SQNS) on Tuesday reported a loss of $5.4 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Colombes, France-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 6 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.
The chip company posted revenue of $14 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $24.8 million, or 39 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $45.6 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Sequans expects its results to range from a loss of 9 cents per share to a loss of 7 cents per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $11.5 million to $13.5 million for the fiscal first quarter.
The company's shares closed at $2.40. A year ago, they were trading at $1.79.
