Serdang police crack syndicate of teen motorcycle thieves

SERDANG: Police here have foiled a motorcycle theft syndicate comprised of teenagers.

Serdang police chief assistant commissioner Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said seven teenagers, aged between 15 and 19, were nabbed during an operation in the district on Saturday.

They were picked up in housing areas in Puchong, including Taman Puchong Hartamas and Rumah PKNS.

Police also seized several motorcycles believed to have been stolen by the syndicate members.

Megat said only one of the boys is still schooling, while the rest are drop-outs.

"Police carried out the operation after multiple motorcycle theft reports were received in the district. With the arrest of these teenagers, we believe we have solved at least five cases," he said.

Megat added that the boys sold the stolen motorcycles to their friends outside of the syndicate circle.
