Sexy ‘Stranger Things’ Eleven Halloween Costume Sparks Backlash: ‘It’s Literally a Child’

Halloween is just around the corner, meaning it’s that time of year for inappropriate costumes to spark outrage online.

The latest is a costume modeled after Millie Bobby Brown’s “Stranger Things” character Eleven. Called the “Upside Down Honey,” the costume features a pink dress-blue jacket combo similar to the one worn by Brown in the series. It also has a higher hem and lower neckline than Brown’s original version, and is paired with thigh-high socks and heels.

The costume has been met with outrage online, given that Brown’s character is a child, and the actress herself it just 13 years old.

“wtf? a ‘sexy eleven costume’ MILLIE IS 13 AND FILMING ST SHE WAS 12! sexualizing someone who is that young is disgusting. please stop,” one Twitter user wrote. “Okay I iust saw someone do a sexy Eleven costume. Don’t ruin the show please it’s literally a child,” wrote another.

One retailer selling the costume defended it in a statement to ABC News.

“We don’t take ourselves too seriously and neither do our customers,” Yandy Lingerie and Costume Company said. “The Yandy girl strives to be the talk of the Halloween party. And we’ve found these topical, pop culture inspired costumes with a fashion-forward twist are always a fan favorite year after year.”
