SGIFF now open for film submissions

27 Jul – Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is back for its 26th edition, and it is now accepting entries for Films, Southeast Asian Film Lab and Youth Jury & Critics Programme.

For the Films category, it is stated on SGIFF's official website that "all feature films and Asian short films that are at least a Singapore premiere, and have not been broadcasted on TV nor been made available on the Internet, and completed no earlier than 1st January 2014" will be considered for the festival.

The Southeast Asian Film Lab, which is a 6-day writing workshop for Southeast Asian screenwriter and/or writer/director of at least two short films that have screened at international film festivals, will end with a pitch in front of an industry jury where an SGD5,000 prize will be awarded to the most promising project to be presented at the Silver Screen Awards.

The Youth Jury & Critics Programme, open to Singapore-based post-secondary students, will culminate in the Youth Jury Coverage, a live film journal on the Festival website. The programme is expected to take in 12 to 15 participants this year.

All submissions and applications for SGIFF will close on 21 August 2015.

SGIFF, founded in 1987, is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore. It also hosts the Silver Screen Awards Competition introduced in 1991.

The 26th Singapore International Film Festival will take place from 26 November until 6 December 2015.
