Sharks bring back Abutu

Owkara alleges death threat

Nigerian Premier League side Sharks FC have snapped up former midfielder Jonah Abutu. The 23-year-old, who played for the Blue Angels between 2006 and 2008, revealed he made the move to revive his relationship with new Sharks boss Augustine Eguavoen, whom he played with in the national team set-up. He joins from Lobi Stars for an undisclosed fee, the midfielder having cut his teeth with lower league outfit Bassdor. Eguavoen was named Sharks manager on 27 October 2012, and Abutu did not hesitate in making the switch. He told SuperSport: "I came (to Sharks) because coach Eguavoen told me he was coming to Sharks football club because the team has been looking for a major trophy in the local scene and he wants me to come contribute my own quota for sharks to get a trophy. "Don't forget that I was once here and it will be a thing of joy to be part of history in Sharks. "With the calibre of players on ground, the old and new I believe we can make it with determination and hard work and with experience and blend of young talented players the sky will be the limit for Sharks FC."
