Sharon Cuneta denies rumours of husband's affair
15 May - Sharon Cuneta has recently made her statement regarding rumours of her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan's extra-marital affair via Facebook.
The actress, whose marriage was marred by rumours of Pangilinan's supposed affair with Senator Risa Hontiveros, shared a long post online on 14 May, denying that there are any issues pertaining to their marriage.
"Here is the truth... There is no truth to the rumours going around that Kiko and Sen. Risa Hontiveros are having an affair (or held hands). Some people are evil. They have nothing better to do than ruin people's lives," she wrote.
Cuneta stated that while she would have made no comments about such rumours in the past, she was compelled to do so this time around.
"I am a Cuneta. We are street-smart. My father had a Master's Degree from the school of hard knocks. Do not even [think] about putting one over me. I shall [never] allow it again. So if I am indeed going through anything now, it does not involve a third party," she stressed.
As for her previous decision to leave the Philippines for a while, Cuneta stated that it was because she was overwhelmed by the things that have been happening around her - from her favourite aunt's health situation, to the fact that her film project has been delayed to a later date.
"I am a human being. I want to rest my mind, body, heart and soul. I am tired of being all things to all people, and I realised that no one has really done or been the same for me. I think there are only a few of us who are like that," she added.
Cuneta ended the post by assuring fans that she is okay, and wished everybody a Happy Mother's Day.
She also shared the same photo of Pangilinan and Hontiveros holding hands that the media previously reported as proof of their affair, and added the word "edited" to mean that it was nothing more than a slander.
