Sharon Yeung performs difficult stunts post-fire injuries

14 Dec – Sharon Yeung recently received thunderous applause when she appeared as a performer at the Tung Wah Charity Gala, a few months after being hospitalised for severe burns.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who previously suffered from burn injuries following a fire on the set of her new movie, "Amazing Spring", previously revealed that she was tasked to train several Miss Hong Kong alums on an aerial performance, and even told the media that they will be bringing a special guest to perform alongside the team.

Much to everyone's surprise, it was Sharon herself who appeared on stage during the gala, where she performed several difficult aerial stunts.

When asked about it after the performance, Sharon admitted that she was worried at first about doing the stunts after finding out she had to undergo surgery for her previous injuries.

"But I finally decided to do it because I really wanted to challenge myself," she said.

When asked if the burns affected her performance at all, Sharon said that she is completely healed.

"Even the doctors think I am recovering quickly. I was expected to be in rehabilitation for 100 days, but I only spent 50 days doing it. Everybody was worried about the injuries, but I said it's fine. There is no problem with the tendons," she said.

Sharon also said that she has more admiration for the four Miss Hong Kong queens, including winner Hera Chan and runner-up Amber Tang, for their performance, as they were not stunt actors to begin with.
