SINGAPORE — The validity of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers (SRV) has been extended again, with the deadline for visits using these vouchers extended to 31 March 2022, said the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on Monday (22 November).

Bookings must be made by New Year's Eve.

STB said that the extension will allow Singaporeans more time to utilise the vouchers. "We understand that some Singaporeans may not have been able to use their SRVs due to reduced group sizes and capacity limits at tourism establishments."

From Monday, more booking slots will be added by the authorised booking partners viz, Changi Recommends, GlobalTix, Klook, Traveloka and Trip.com. From New Years' Day, they will no longer accept bookings made using the vouchers, and all physical counters will be closed.

STB urged Singaporeans to plan ahead and book early, especially for the upcoming festive season and school holidays in December and March.

Last December, in a bid to support local tourism businesses amid the pandemic, all citizens aged 18 and above were given $100 worth of SRVs, which can be spent on staycations, attraction tickets and tours.

The vouchers, which were initially meant to expire at the end of June, were extended till 31 December six months ago. The extension came amid complaints that the voucher redemption process, mostly done online, was cumbersome, with many applicants encountering technical difficulties.

Efforts were then made to simplify the redemption process.

As of 1 November, almost 1.3 million Singaporeans have used their vouchers at least once, making more than 1.6 million transactions. By comparison, at the end of April, over 1 million had used their SRVs at least once, making a total of 1.3 million transactions.

About $256 million in vouchers and additional expenditure have been spent under the scheme so far.

Singaporeans can also donate their vouchers via the donation options provided by the booking partners or the physical booking counters.
