Singapore-based Vega Baby provides filming funds

3 Mar – Vega Baby, the producer of upcoming action film "Everly", has set up a USD25 million to USD30 million fund to finance two to three films a year.

The Singapore-based film production and distribution company will finance films with budgets up to USD10 million, according to Deadline.

Vega Baby, which debuted at the American Film Market in 2013 and now has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, will be financing projects from domestic as well as international partners. The company is "committed to a filmmaker-friendly approach".

Vega Baby Productions CEO Adam Ripp, who co-produced Bryan Singer's 1993 award-winning feature film debut, "Public Access", and recently produced "Everly", previously said, "Our core belief is total transparency and our mission is to make each film a success for all involved."

The company's latest production, "Everly", stars Salma Hayek in the titular role. The film follows Everly as she escapes from assassins sent by her former mob boss to end her life. Full of blood and violence, this gory movie is not one for the faint-hearted.

"Everly" barges into cinemas on 26 March 2015.
