SINGAPORE: Traffic flow through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas is expected to be heavy ahead of the Labour Day holiday on May 1, 2017.
The number of vehicles headed in both directions will much higher than normal from tomorrow until May 1, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore said in a statement today.
"Travellers using the land checkpoints during this period can expect delays," it said.
The ICA added that security at the checkpoints remains its top priority against any potential threats to Singapore.
"To avoid a surge of travellers and vehicles seeking clearance at the land checkpoints, travellers are advised to adjust their travel plans if possible," it said.
The Authority added that it will continue to take necessary measures to improve clearance efficiency as much as possible without compromising security.
"We seek travellers' understanding and cooperation when using the land checkpoints during the peak periods," it said. -- Bernama
