PUTRAJAYA: Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean is undertaking a six-day working visit to Malaysia starting today to Sept 9.
The Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) said this visit is among the exchanges of high-level introductory visits between Malaysia and Singapore since the formation of a new government in Malaysia post 14th General Election on May 9.
“This visit will provide opportunities for both sides to exchange views on broad ranging bilateral, regional and international issues and also to discuss prospects for greater cooperation,” it said in a statement today.
Wisma Putra said Teo’s visit will cover the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Kota Kinabalu, Sabah as well as Kuching, Sarawak.
During his visit, Teo is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Teo will also meet Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg; Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud; Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and Sabah Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin. – BERNAMA © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
