Horangi Cyber Security: Southeast Asia is still vulnerable to cybercrime

Horangi will use the newly-raised financing to bolster its presence in Asia

Singapore-based cybersecurity startup Horangi Cybersecurity has raised a US$3.1 million Series A round led by Monk’s Hill Ventures. Right Click Capital, 500 Startups, Hub Ventures Fund, 6Degrees Ventures, and other private investors also participated in the round.

Additionally, Monk’s Hill’s two managing partners, Peng T. Ong and Kuo-Yi Lim, will be appointed to the Horangi’s Board of Directors.

“Horangi brings a level of expertise and much-needed capability in its products to the market, particularly in Asia where this is lacking. The team’s extensive experiences put them in a strong position to help companies protect their online presence and data,” said Kuo-Yi, in an official press statement.

The startup will use the newly-raised financing to grow its technology, scale its business operations and accelerate expansion in key Asian markets.

Formed in 2016, Horangi was co-founded by Lee Suit and Paul Hadjy, both of whom had prior experience at Palantir, a US government-backed big data firm founded by Peter Thiel.

Horangi has developed a suite of full-stack security products, called Scanner, Hunter, and Storyfier, which enable rapid delivery rapid delivery of incident response and threat detection.

Customers can access these products by subscribing to plans which start from US$50 per month. It also offers bespoke plans for enterprises. Besides its SaaS products, customers can also engage with Horangi’s in-house cyber operations consultants with a single click.

To date, the company has over 50 clients across sectors such as government, technology, financial services and retail. The majority of its clients are based in APAC, including US MNCs with operations in Asia.

“As cyber threats become increasingly complex, businesses require proactive solutions to safeguard their digital environments,” said Hadjy, co-founder and CEO of Horangi, in an official press statement.

“Our vision is to provide an affordable full-stack cybersecurity solution for our users globally, allowing them to quickly understand and deploy the right course of action.”
