Singapore National Day: Fashion pieces you can incorporate into your wardrobe

While celebrations for this year’s National Day on 9 August will be held on a smaller scale, it shouldn’t stop you from wearing the colours red and white within your outfits.

Red may be a trickier colour to wear, but the trick is to not go overboard.

If you’re wearing a red outfit, keep the rest of your style minimal, and pair with monotone colours like white, or black. Or, you could even don jewellery with a dash of red for that cute pop of colour.

These brands have gone all out with interesting motifs, and some come with limited edition designs for you to collect and show off your national pride.

Here are some of the interesting ones we’ve noticed.

Drawn from the Fall-Winter 2020 Collection, Tod’s edit showcases flowing silhouettes and pared-back separates in modern proportions, offbeat details and tonal layers of red hues. We love this leather Gommino shoes that will leave the wearer with a sartorial confidence.

This Majulah T-shirt shirt was lovingly produced in collaboration with MCCY's #my1959 project, for the 60th anniversary of Singapore's National Symbols. The design imitates the iconic layout and easily recognisable signage around Singapore, but changed up with the words ‘Onward Singapore’.
