Singaporean organisation Reality Rift announced on Tuesday (2 March) that they were releasing their Valorant roster and would be momentarily stepping away from the game's competitive scene.

"After much consideration, it is with a heavy heart that we have reached a decision to part ways with our Valorant squad. We wish our winning squad the best of luck in their quest for glory," said Jordan "Xiphius" Lee, Reality Rift's Head of Esports and Development Operations.

Reality Rift's former Valorant team, comprised of Rochino "Spyko" Belial, Justin "Maskon" Adams, Jayden "Salvestro" Tng, Aiman "Jinggg" Azham, "Artn", and "Freyr" are now all free agents.

The roster notably placed third in the Valorant First Strike event for Malaysia and Singapore last December and won the Malaysia and Singapore leg of the Challengers 1 event of the 2021 Valorant Champion's Tour (VCT) Stage 1 in early February.

The roster was also able to qualify for the Malaysia and Singapore Challengers 3 after placing second in Challengers 2 at the end of last month. The squad is expected to stay together until Challengers 3 to try and qualify for the VCT's Stage 1 Masters tournament for Southeast Asia.

Reality Rift first entered the Valorant competitive scene in August last year with the signing of Team Exsequor, with a roster change quickly following in November of that year to finalize the roster that the organisation ultimately released.

With the release of its Valorant team, Reality Rift will be stepping away from the game's competitive scene to observe developments "before making any major commitments".

With its Valorant team ceasing operations, Reality Rift are no longer operating any esports teams after the organisation also shut down their Dota 2 team in September last year.

With that said, Reality Rift will still be operating Reality Rift Arena, a gaming arena in Singapore and the organisation's main business.
