The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced details of the online redemption process for SingapoRediscovers Vouchers today (23 Nov), which will be made available to all Singapore citizens aged 18 and above in 2020.

The redemption process will run from 1 December 2020 to 30 June 2021.

The SingapoRediscovers Vouchers scheme, first announced in August by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat and Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing, is conceptualised and launched to help support Singapore’s tourism industry, which has been very hard hit by COVID-19.

“We have designed the redemption process to be safe, easy and inclusive for all Singaporeans, and we hope that they will take this opportunity to support tourism businesses while rediscovering what they love about Singapore. There is no need to rush to use the Vouchers, as STB will continue to work with tourism businesses to roll out more deals throughout the scheme period,” STB Chief Executive Mr Keith Tan said.

All Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2020 are eligible for S$100 SingapoRediscovers Vouchers in denominations of S$10 (e.g. 10 x S$10). They are also entitled to purchase up to six subsidised child or youth tickets for attractions and tours if they have family members under the age of 18. For those who need help with digital transactions, physical counters will be set up island-wide to provide assistance.

Five booking partners announced

From 1 Dec, the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers can be redeemed online through five authorised booking partners: Changi Travel Services (also known as Changi Recommends), GlobalTix, Klook & UOB Travel Planners (as consortium members), Traveloka and Trip.com. Eligible products are marked with the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers icon.

STB also announced some of the hotels, attractions, and tour packages available for use with the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers, including Yotel Singapore’s collaboration with Wildlife Reserves Singapore to launch two different Stay & Go Wild packages, which includes hotel stays and discounted tickets to Singapore Zoo or River Safari. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore are also offering staycation packages featuring a specially-curated Fullerton Sidecars tour experience that allows guests to rediscover the historic Civic District and Chinatown in a vintage Vespa sidecar.

Citizens can also learn more about Singapore on specially curated tours such as Street Murals & Heritage – Chinatown to Telok Ayer by Atlas Travelz and Katong Kaleidoscope by Aveson Travel. In these tours, participants can check out unique art in the streets of Chinatown and Telok Ayer, where they can learn more about Singapore’s Eurasian and Peranakan heritage around the Joo Chiat and Katong district.

Preventing fraud

SingapoRediscovers Vouchers are non-transferable, to minimise the risk of fraud or Voucher scams. Redemption of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers will require secure authentication using SingPass, and citizens are encouraged to register for a SingPass account now if they do not have one, as account setup will take time. Members of the public are advised not to seek assistance from strangers in setting up their SingPass accounts or resetting their SingPass passwords.

All eligible Singapore citizens will also be receiving a letter by 1 December 2020, with information about the redemption process. For more how-to guides and FAQs, they can also check out SingapoRediscovers website.
