Singapore's new rage room is the perfect way to de-stress

Working 9-5 every day can take its toll on your mental health. Feelings of anger can easily bottle up and stress levels can hit the roof.

That’s where rage rooms come in.

Singapore has just introduced its first ever rage room, The Fragment Room, which allows people to break stuff for a solid 30 minutes.

For just £20, you will be given a crate full of breakable objects including wine bottles and champagne glasses.

If you feel you need some extra time, upgrade to an hour’s worth of smashing for £120.

One writer took on the de-stressing experience. She was given a set of white overalls, a helmet and a baseball bat.

For half an hour, she went crazy, smashing everything in sight. However, the “constant smashing and throwing started to take its toll” and she was left sweating, waiting for someone to tell her off for the mess she’d made.

However, the writer did describe the rage room as “pretty liberating.”

Rage rooms aren’t a new concept. In April, a similar place opened in Birmingham, allowing stressed out workers to smash up an office environment.

Singapore’s latest endeavour is much needed after a survey revealed that 60% of workers complain of being stressed.

In the UK, stress accounts for 37% of all work-related health problems with 488,000 people suffering from workplace stress, anxiety or depression in 2016.
