Singlong peanut puff products have been suspended from import by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) after the authority received public feedback about a fragmented metal piece found inside one of the puffs.

In a press release on Friday (22 February), the AVA said it established that the metal piece had come from a machine used for making the puffs at the factory.

The authority has directed the importer to recall the products with the expiry date 30 December 2019, which originated from Malaysia. The recall is ongoing, said the AVA.

“The manufacturer of the peanut puffs was investigated for a similar feedback earlier this year. As a precautionary measure, the AVA has suspended all import of products from them,” it added.

Consumers who had purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them and to contact the importer, Sing Long Foodstuff Trading, at 6284 5254 for exchanges or inquiries.
