SingPost is also in talks with other last mile delivery platforms

Singapore Post (SingPost) has signed a partnership with Park N Parcel to bring onboard its network of over 1,600 collection points.

Park N Parcel’s network joins SingPost’s other collection points on its last mile delivery platform LaMP, which includes POPStations, parcel lockers and other brick-and-mortar collection points.

LaMP’s goal is to become a unified last mile delivery platform where all parties can come together to share logistics resources and solutions.

“SingPost is delighted to work with Park N Parcel on Last. This collaboration will be the first of many as we reach out across the region, and represents an important step in elevating industry standards as well as enhancing customer experience in the last mile logistics landscape,” said Alex Tan, SingPost Group Chief Digital and Technology Officer, in a press statement.

“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with local industry leaders such as SingPost as we continue to improve on our services,” said Erik Cheong, CoFounder and Chief Marketing Officer of Park N Parcel.

“We seek to provide both buyers and sellers the peace of mind while keeping costs affordable so that the delivery process will become an afterthought in the online shopping experience,” he added.

Launched in January 2017, Park N Parcel’s platform taps on individuals or retail stores to become collection points (a.k.a “Parkers”). These Parkers collect the parcels on behalf of customers, who may not be available at home during the stipulated delivery date.

By using Parkers, e-commerce and delivery companies do not have to waste time and resources re-delivering items to customers who miss the delivery date.

The Parkers hold on to the parcels until the users can make the trip down to pick them up. Park N Parcel pays the Parkers based on the total transactions made for the month, at S$1.00 (US$0.76) per parcel. The company also has a mall-to-mall delivery option.

In April this year, when Park N Parcel raised a S$850,000 (US$648,000) seed funding round led by Southeast Asia-focussed venture capital firm TRi5 Ventures and a group of undisclosed angel investors, it claimed to have delivered more than 15,000 parcels per month in Singapore.

At the time, Park N Parcel said it will expand into Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan by the end of this year.

Park n Parcel is currently working with partners such as Aramex, Roadbull, Riverwood and Easyparcel and serving customers such as ASOS, SGShop, Carousell, Airfrov and prominent blogshops (Tinsel Rack, The Dress Room, Dressabelle).

Besides Park N Parcel, SingPost is also in talks with several retail and logistics partners around the region to join LaMP. It is expected to close a partnership with an Indonesian last-mile operator with 1,500 collection points across 58 cities by the end of this month.
