Six-car pile-up brought traffic to a standstill in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: A six-vehicle pile-up which took place during rush hour at Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari, here, earlier today had traffic backed up for several kilometres.

The collision which took place at the traffic lights of Saujana Utama at about 6.20pm involved five cars, including a Porsche, a Volkswagen and a Perodua Myvi.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said a team of firemen from the Kota Anggerik station arrived at the scene about 30 minutes after receiving an emergency call.

An Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) truck with three personnel as well as two ambulances with four medical officers was also deployed to the scene.

Sani said five victims – three men and two women – sustained injuries in the accident.

Investigation to determine the cause of the accident is on-going.
