SERDANG: Police have detained six students of a private college in Bandar Puchong Jaya and a former student of the same college for suspected involvement in drug trafficking.

Serdang district police chief ACP Ismadi Borhan said the suspects, aged between 21 and 24, were picked up from two locations, including at an apartment, in Bandar Puchong Jaya last Thursday.

“Upon inspection at the apartment, police found three slabs of what is believed to be ganja, weighing 1.855kg, in one of the rooms,” he told a press conference at the Serdang district police headquarters here today.

Ismadi said police also discovered glass bottles which were believed to have been turned into drug paraphernalia.

“We believe they have obtained the drug supply, worth about RM4,500, from another trafficker in the district,” he said, adding that five of the men tested positive for drugs.

Ismadi said all the suspects were being remanded for seven days until Thursday to facilitate investigations under Sections 39B and 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.—BERNAMA © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
