Two of the best Filipino squads, Neon Esports and TNC Predator faced each other in the upper bracket semifinal of ESL One Thailand 2020: SEA.
After a hard-fought Game 1 victory for TNC, Neon Esports decided to block Park “March” Tae-won and Kim “Gabbi” Vvillafuerte’s Io-Gyrocopter combo by drafting the hard carry hero for Andrei “skem” Ong instead.
Both teams were evenly matched in the second game of the series, as they won their fair share of team fights and both teams also claimed multiple sets of Barracks from one another.
However, with Neon dreading Gabbi’s late-game Anti-Mage taking control of the game, they decided to go for a Divine Rapier play on skem’s Gyrocopter, which led to an insane Triple Rampage.
It took TNC everything to take down that Gyrocopter, giving @skemdota2 back to back Rampages in the process … but it was too little, too late. Victory for @neonesportsdota – we are going to a game 3! #ESLOne— ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) September 2, 2020

With the Dire Ancient’s tier 4 towers down and exposed, Neon decided to make their move. Neon decided to go straight for the Dire Ancient, which prompted TNC’s heroes to try and focus down skem’s Gyrocopter. Instead, the team was shredded by the Flak Cannon and Divine Rapier combo that melted down Timothy “Tims” Randrup’s Tusk, Damien “kpii” Chok’s Void Spirit, and even Gabbi’s Anti-Mage.
TNC immediately bought back and rushed to defend their Ancient. But, right when they tried to burst down the Gyrocopter for a second time, skem activated his Satanic and Black King Bar which kept him alive long enough to secure his seventh kill in the team fight.
With TNC’s heroes no longer having buyback, Neon reengaged the Dire Ancient and forced a Game 3. And, despite Neon’s Game 2 heroics, TNC managed to regroup with two stellar performances from their carry players. In the final game of the series, Gabbi recorded a 10/1/21KDA record on his Faceless Void. Meanwhile, Armel “Armel” Tabios had an impressive 15/4/16 KDA score on his Lina.
