If you want a nail look that’s going to last, a gel manicure is a no-brainer. Although, after a while, the gel can really damage your nails. Introducing ManiMe, a company that makes custom-fit gel nail stickers that look amazing, don’t use any harsh chemicals, are incredibly easy to apply and last up to two weeks.

If you can’t get to a nail salon or want to give your brittle nails a break, ManiMe is the way to go.

What is ManiMe, and how does it work?

Nail stickers sometimes called wraps, are nothing new. You can find them in the nail aisle of most drug stores next to the press-ons. However, ManiMe is unique in that it fits its gel stick-ons to your unique nail shape. This helps them last longer because if the stickers overlap to touch your skin, they’re not going to last very long.

Getting your ManiMe manicure is easy. Simply use your phone to take five photos of your hands from different angles (it provides step-by-step instructions). Then, choose your nail design. Your high-tech mani will arrive within 4–7 business days.

ManiMe also makes pedicure stickers if you want to go full-out.

How to apply a ManiMe gel manicure

The application process is just as easy, but each pack comes with five extra stick-ons, just in case you need them.

First, wipe your nails with the prep pad to remove any oils. Next, peel a gel off the sheet and hold it over your nail to line it up evenly. Press down and smooth out the gel towards the edges. Fold the excess gel tip over the top of your nail and cut it off or file it down. Finally, apply a top-coat and you’re good to go.

“We created this company to make accessible, healthy and easy-to-change manicures — all words that rarely describe traditional manicures,” the co-founder of ManiMe, Jooyeon Song, wrote on its website. “Our solution is the first-ever custom-fit stick on gels developed with proprietary 3D technology.”

How much it costs

Needless to say, custom-fit gel stick-ons sound expensive, but they actually cost less than the salon. ManiMe gels cost $15–$25, depending on the design. The brand also offers free shipping on orders over $30.

ManiMe has the cutest designs

If you want a simple, one-color look, ManiMe offers gels in 38 solid colors. However, it also has amazing designs. ManiMe partners with artists to create unique manicure designs, as well as creates its own. From negative space manicures and symmetrical lines to abstract colors and florals, ManiMe has it all.

My personal testimony

Pre-pandemic, I would go to a nail salon to get a gel or shellac manicure at least every other month. So when salons initially closed, I began doing my nails at home. While I’ve always loved painting my nails, regular polish just doesn’t have the same shiny look or staying power. Plus, I love a fun design!

I discovered ManiMe a few weeks into quarantine, and after my first manicure, I became hooked. I received so many compliments; suddenly, people were messaging me on Instagram to ask what salon I was going to. Friends were texting me, excited to share which designs they were getting that month.

Even now, while salons are open, I’ve stuck with my ManiMe gels and can’t wait to place my next order.
