SLAM SNEAKER REVIEW: RYAN REYES AND THE NIKE KD VI ELITE
What’s up SLAMFam! Here’s part 2 of 2 for this week’s special edition of the SLAM SNEAKER REVIEW Elite series. With Tony Dela Cruz covering the LeBron XI Elite, we invited Ryan Reyes to try on the KD VI Elite during TNT practice.
Here’s Ryan’s take on the Durants:
What’s up guys this is Ryan checking in. I love sneakers so when it comes to doing stuff like court testing a pair of the latest ones out, it’s a no brainer.
STYLE
Style wise, I say low tops can easily be paired with shorts. Just for that casual feel and look. In terms of the design, I really like how the flywire is visible the full air max and I like this colorway specifically. The design is just clean. I also like how the KD logo on the heel area is more visible now. I really like the mesh on these as well.
PRICE
If I’m not mistaken, these are the most expensive KD’s out there. But the Full zoom Air Max sole is worth it. It’s definitely a clear upgrade from the regular KD’s, an added boost especially heading into the playoffs for us.
FUNCTIONALITY
Cushioning is great. Problem I had though was the side support, since my game is roaming all over the court, while doing my laterals, the fit on the sides are important to me. It feels like it slides out, but I usually wear a size 13 for hooping so for this one maybe go a half size down to be sure to get that snug fit. I really dig how it’s light as well, almost like a Kobe low top.
I think with taped ankles you’ll be good to go in these. Also, I have wide feet so to make sure they’re stable when you go on the court, I laced em up to the last hole. If you have the Crusaders or Kobes you can go one hole lower to match that stability.
Overall I’d give this an 8.5/10. I’m really a big fan of low tops so this one is right up there with the Kobe lows and the Zoom Crusaders I’ve been wearing this conference.
The KD VI ELITE is available at your nearest Titan and Nike shops.
