Soldier dies after ramming into car parked at emergency lane

KUALA LUMPUR: A soldier was killed when he rammed into a Honda Accord that had stopped at the emergency lane at Km25.2 New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Sungai Buloh, this morning. The victim was been identified as 36-year-old Mohd Nazri Hamdan. City police Traffic Enforcement Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkefly Yahya said the 7.30am accident was believed to have happened when the motorcycle crashed into the Honda Accord that had stopped at the emergency lane. “The Honda Accord’s driver, K Sivakumar K Kathireson, 63, stopped at the emergency lane after his car had a punctured tyre. “The driver stopped at the emergency lane with the hazard signal on about 30 minutes before the motorcycle rammed into the back of his car. “The motorcyclist was flung off his bike and landed on the road following the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics,” Zulkefly said in a statement today.
