Sony to offer unlocked Xperia smartphones in the US
Despite Sony's relatively weak presence in the US, the company will launch unlocked versions of its Xperia X Series of smartphones across America this summer, reports The Verge.
The Xperia X Performance, Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia XA Ultra will all be available unlocked at the same time as the phones go on sale in other countries.
Sony unveiled its XA Ultra earlier this month, and showed off its X, X Performance and XA models for the first time at the Mobile World Congress in February.
The Xperia X is available for pre-order starting Tuesday, with the additional models ready for pre-order on June 19. The Xperia X goes on sale June 26 for $549.99, while the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA come out on July 17 for $699.99 and $279.99, respectively.
