Sources Say Ben Affleck Wanted $60 Million Mansion and J.Lo Wasn't Into It...and Now It Won't Sell
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have to split up several assets amid their divorce (you know, 'cause of the lack of prenup), but the biggest? The casual $60.8 million mansion they purchased back in May 2023, which they're currently attempting to sell for $68 million. WHICH, by the way, is said to be a loss considering how much work was put into it.
Anyway, apparently Ben's the one who wanted to buy the mansion, and J.Lo was never a big fan.
"The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her," a source told People. "She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances." The house is also extremely sleek and modern, which is a departure for J.Lo's usual style since she "she loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe."
That said, another source denies that Ben was the one who wanted to buy the home, saying it was inconvenient since “His life’s in Brentwood. His kids live there. It was such a pain and time consuming for Ben to navigate traffic from their house. He never liked it.”
Either way, Ben's the one who secretly moved out of the mansion while J.Lo was in New York City—prompting the couple's split. As another source told People, “Ben began moving his things out of their shared home while Jennifer was in New York in April, effectively blindsiding her. He wouldn’t answer texts or calls.”
Yiiiikes.
