A special birth certificate and accompanying folder will be given on top of the SG50 Jubilee Baby gift for all Singapore citizens born next year.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Grace Fu shared a photograph of a prototype of the special birth certificate and folder on her Facebook page on Monday, saying it will be accompanied by the SG50 logo as well as a message from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Earlier this year, the public was invited to submit ideas and vote for items to be included in the SG50 baby hamper, which will be distributed to every Singaporean baby born here in 2015.

The final list includes a special medallion, a multi-functional shawl, a baby sling, a baby book, a family photo frame, a set of baby clothes, a diaper bag and a scrapbook.

The SG50 Jubilee Baby Gift is part of a slew of initiatives and events to mark Singapore’s 50th birthday in 2015. Singapore gained its independence on 9 August 1965.
