Marvel Studios is no longer going to be creatively involved in future Spider-Man movies, it has been reported.

Deadline says that Sony and The Walt Disney Company have failed to reach a deal over financial control, and the former studio has taken back control of the franchise.

Two films starring Tom Holland and directed by Jon Watts (who was behind Homecoming and Far From Home) are said to be in the works, but Kevin Feige and the folks running the MCU will no longer be a part of them.

With Disney no longer involved, and Sony looking to push its shared universe of Spider-Man characters it owns following the success of Venom, it looks like Spidey's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in question.

More on this story to come.
