SHAH ALAM: A total of 1,459 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates out of 67,943 students obtained excellent results (Grade A+, A, A-) in all subjects this year.
Selangor state education director Mohd Salleh Mohd Kassim said the results are a slight improvement of 0.01 per cent over the performance of 68,268 candidates in 2015.
“The State Average Grade (GPN) for 2016 is 5.05, compared to 5.06 in 2015; an improvement of 0.01 points (lower score means better performance),” he said at a press conference held at the Selangor State Education Department here today.
Mohd Salleh added that 21 candidates managed to score straight A+s.
“The students are from Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah, Sekolah Seri Puteri, Cyberjaya and Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Katholik in Petaling Jaya, among others,” he added.
