SINGAPORE — The Singapore Sports Hub is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a series of virtual events which will culminate in a National Day Fiesta on 9 August.

In a media release on Tuesday (21 July), the Sports Hub said that, as it may still be some time before crowds can return, it will be putting up celebratory content online from Saturday.

Some of the content include:

  • Speed Racer: An interactive running game with obstacles, set along the 100PLUS Promenade around the National Stadium.

  • Shoot Your Best: Explore the Sports, Arts and Heritage Trail online to learn about the history of the Kallang area. Participants can discover picturesque spots around the Sports Hub for Instagram opportunities on their next visits.

  • Video Ga-Ga: A special birthday video from the Sports Hub team. Instagram users can join in the celebrations through exclusive birthday-themed Instagram filters, and tag @SGSports in their Instagram stories.

  • National Day Fiesta: A special 55-minute online show hosted by Michelle Chong at 1pm on National Day (9 August). The community can also join the #PlankThatSong challenge, and those who submit their videos by 31 July will have the opportunity to have their videos featured during the event.

The Sports Hub was opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 26 July 2015, and has hosted top concerts and events such as the 2015 SEA Games and the WTA Finals.
