How to view your Spotify Wrapped 2024
It's time to find out your top songs and artists of the year
As 2024 draws to a close, music lovers are celebrating the release of Spotify Wrapped, the streaming app's yearly round-up. The viral trend takes social media by storm every December, turning users' data into colourful, shareable infographics.
It's back for another year, but how can you view your Wrapped? Here you need to know about this year's launch.
What is Spotify Wrapped?
Spotify Wrapped is popular annual feature which reveals users' most-played songs, artists and podcasts of the year. The personalised data includes a breakdown of listeners' favourite genres, and shows exactly how many minutes they've spent listening to music over the past 12 months.
Wrapped also includes video messages from top musicians, such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter, thanking their most dedicated fans.
For the first time, this year's Wrapped features a personalised playlist of music videos, a DJ powered by artificial intelligence, and easier ways to share to TikTok.
Wrapped first launched in 2016 as a marketing tool, having previously been known as Year in Music. It has since become an end-of-year tradition for many Spotify fans, who proudly share their stats and listening habits on social media.
The streaming service, which has more than 640 million users, said that 225 million listeners engaged with Wrapped content in 2023.
How can I view my Spotify Wrapped 2024?
The wait is finally over: Wrapped 2024 is available to view via the Spotify mobile app now, following its release on Wednesday, 4 December. It is free to access, even if users are not subscribed to Spotify Premium.
Why isn't Spotify Wrapped 2024 working for me?
Users having trouble viewing Wrapped 2024 may need to install the latest version of the app, either via Apple's App Store or Google Play. In a statement, Spotify said: "An up-to-date app means you're getting a fully optimised Wrapped experience."
They also need have listened to enough music – a "few hours" worth throughout the year, according to the company – for Wrapped to generate data. Streams are only counted if users listened to a song for at least 30 seconds.
Who are the most-played artists on Spotify?
Taylor Swift was named Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2024 in the UK, after the success of her globe-spanning Eras Tour. The pop star beat Drake, Kanye West, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd to the title for a second year running, and also claimed the most-streamed album with The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift was also named the top artist worldwide, racking up 26.6 billion streams on the platform. To mark the achievement, Spotify has added a special badge to her profile, as well as mini-animations tailored to the eras of her discography.
Meanwhile, Noah Kahan's folk hit Stick Season was the UK's most-played song of the year, ahead of Sabrina Carpenter's summer banger Espresso and Benson Boone's Beautiful Things.
The Joe Rogan Experience was the biggest podcast amongst Brits, with Steven Bartlett's The Diary of a CEO second and Gary Lineker's The Rest Is Football landing third. J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy classic The Fellowship of the Ring was the most popular audiobook.
Is there an Apple Music version of Spotify Wrapped?
Wrapped is exclusive to Spotify, but rival streaming services have introduced similar end-of-year features. These include:
Apple Music – Replay 2024
YouTube Music – Recap 2024
